2015 Year in Review

Our 2015 started off with a bang. In January, we purchased an older model RV for an RV trip that we had been wanting to take for a while. Now that we had the RV, our dream was becoming a reality. We did take the trip from June through August and you can read the rest of the articles on this blog to get an idea of how our trip went. It was quite the adventure.
Around January, we decided to move to Texas. Buddy's parents retired there in summer of 2014 and, after visiting for Christmas last year, we really liked it. They moved to the Dallas area and we loved the area and liked the idea of being closer to my parents. We have been feeling called to the country for a while as our family continues to grow. We've always loved the city, but the slower-paced country life was beckoning so we heeded the call (more on that later).
In March, Crist turned 7 and started baseball for the 3rd or 4th season of his young career. He really improved from last year and had a great time. The team lost a few more than they won, but he enjoyed it as always. His favorite position is short stop and pitcher (just fielding since it was coach pitch). This year he played for the Phillies.
In May, we found out we were pregnant again. This was a nice surprise since we planned on leaving for our summer RV trip the following month. We went along with the plan anyway and put our house on the market in June and left for our RV trip. Again, for more on the trip, see the other articles on this blog.
In August, Brooklyn turned 5 and we were able to have a party for her with her friends just before we left Las Vegas for good. She started gymnastics this year and has continued it in Texas too. She enjoys it.
After our 8 week RV trip, we returned to Las Vegas for a week or so to gather up our stuff from storage and make the move to Texas. We arrived here in late August and stayed with Buddy's parents until we found a house to rent in the country. We really like our new neighborhood. It's quiet, except for the random gunfire. We're outside city limits, so pretty much anything is legal out here. Sometimes, I think we get more gunfire than a Chicago ghetto, but nobody's been hurt yet. Yay Texas!
In September, Grace turned 2 and her favorite things are singing, dancing, dolls, Minnie Mouse and eating.
In December, we welcomed Koryn's parents to Texas. Now the kids have both sets of grandparents in the same town which is a real blessing. Unfortunately, the house next door is not for rent, but they'll be close enough.
All in all, 2015 was filled with a lot of blessings and a lot of changes. We'll have one more addition to our family in February of 2016, but I expect that to be the only major change. We will see!
